I didn’t do my A levels because I was adamant at 16 I wanted to become a nurse so I went to college to do a BTEC in health sciences. I didn’t get into my first choice university and back then I was gutted.. now I couldn’t be more thankful #AlevelResults #Clearing2020

I lost all my motivation, I didn’t hand my work in and I got into arguments regularly with my tutor who put me on report for my behaviour. She told me one day that all I was ever going to be good for was the retail job that I was in. #AlevelResults #Clearing2020

I summoned what little strength I had to get through my final bits of coursework and I scrapped a pass for my BTEC. All my mates went off to university and I worked for a few years in retail then an estate agents. #AlevelResults #Clearing2020

I got fired from the estate agents because someone I worked with saw on Instagram I had applied to go back to college because I wanted more from my life. I practically danced out the door, that day lit a fire under me to prove everyone wrong #AlevelResults #Clearing2020

A few weeks later, I got a place at college but figured there was no harm in trying to get into university through clearing. My heart and my passion was always in history and I’d finally realised that. #AlevelResults #Clearing2020

I got a place doing my history undergraduate degree at @YourStMarys through clearing and it has turned out to be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I was one of the oldest in the class at 20 but I was finally where I needed to be #AlevelResults #Clearing2020

A undergraduate degree, a masters degree and a lot of hard work, tears and tantrums later. I achieved a goal I thought impossible.. my proposal for a PHD thesis was accepted. Today, I can (FINALLY!) go back on to campus and start my second year. #AlevelResults #Clearing2020

I want people to know that despite previous educational experiences or an absolute witch of a tutor telling you that you will never amount to anything.. you are capable. It is hard work, you will have low points but my god it is worth it. #AlevelResults #Clearing2020
