1/3. Proving my argument since day 1...great piece in the Sacramento Bee. Highlights: County of Sac. received $181 million in federal dollars to combat the pandemic. $104 million went to salaries and benefits.
2/3. County health was told it could only ask for $1.8 mil for whole county, but got $1.6m for safety materials and address COVID in the spring. There was a $90 million ask for more staff, testing, contact tracing and more to save lives, save jobs - that was cut to $45 million.
3/3. Sacramento County is not flattening the curve. there’s not enough testing, no contact tracing. test results are too slow to determine who is sick. Because of these numbers, now county schools will not open this fall. So yes...they screwed up and then screwed the kids
