BJP-RSS had formed a committee to implement Clause 6 of the Assam accord. The committee was hugely cheered on by @swapan55 . The report of the committee has just been made public. It spells death knell for Bengalis of Assam. Thread+
Look at the composition of the committee.BJP-RSS got it headed by Justice Sharma whose judgment enabled the detention in detention camps. No Bengali is part of the committee. The committee recommends reservation of 80-100 % LS seats, 80-100% central and state jobs for “Assamese” and reservation of land rights for Assamese. So Bengalis are out of all of these.
Bengalis are disenfranchised and divested of jobs. They merely have the right to live in Assam, livelihood - nope. If West Bengal had any political party of credibility, this would be enough to kill BJP-RSS in WB.
Divesting Bengalis of Assam of franchise, jobs today, divest Bengalis of West Bengal tomorrow. This slogan should have killed BJP-RSS in West Bengal if any party had an iota of credibility left. BJP-RSS lost all 3 bypoll seats in WB post NRC that chucked out many Hindus.
But that win was pre CAA. Non BJP parties have significantly lost credibility among Hindus post CAA. But otherwise, a real large part of WB comprises of refugees who came after 1951. Consolidation of their votes against BJP can kill it easily, if opponent has credubiiity
