nobody talks about this scene enough and that shocks me. mini thread
1. the music holy shit i. the theme that plays whenever killua is monologuing to himself about gon (also the fourth ending) it just. it stings, this song is so well composed for them and i love it
2. killua self doubting, again. “were you ordering me as your teammate, or were you asking me, as your friend?” they cleared up what he was thinking but during the original scene of them running, the narrator said killua wanted to ask him that, that he was doubting what gon meant
3. killua realising gon’s selfishness to a degree, saying how he’ll always be running ahead and letting killua clean up his messes
4. killua’s goddamn white knight selflessness shines through again. he knows what gon did against pitou was outlandish and reckless, and so have his actions been many other times. but he stands by gon and will be there to support him ( “clean up” no matter what.
5. the beginning cut off but it was “ i know kite was your friend, and it wasnt my fight”... it has nothing to do with him and yet he still wants to help gon. he wants to ease his issues and do whatever he can to bring kite back. he KNOWS it has nothing to do with him deep down +
+ but he wants to help because he cares about gon. thats why when gon told him “this must be easy, since it means nothing to you” thats most likely why it hit him so hard. once again, that probablt cemented the fact that he thinks he isnt worthy of gon or that hes messing up.
+ and i feel like that scene is what most led up to his breakdown in front of palm, if im remembering the timeline right. he felt like he couldnt do anything. he was trying his hardest to help gon and gon shunned him away. killua just doesnt know right from wrong at that point.
+ but hes so goddamn selfless that he’s gonna stick by gon no matter what. “and ill do it again” he’d die for gon, he’d do anything to keep him safe. idk what this thread even is but. in conclusion, killua’s the most selfless boy ever.
