LONG THREAD: I need to air this truth that I’ve been holding in for the past few days.

Today, West Seneca and Maryvale Schools announced that they will be starting the school year 100%...

I just looked at West Seneca’s plan. It’s 40 pages and says nothing about starting the year 100% remote. It also has very little about how stakeholders were involved in the development of the plan.

I tried to pull up Maryvale’s Plan, but I honestly could not locate it...

Now, I support West Seneca and Maryvale’s decision and find no fault in their plan development and shifting course in what is a fluid process, requiring modification and additional collaboration with stakeholders...

As an educator & union rep in another district, I also have an understanding of the reopening plan process, stakeholder involvement, & it’s complexity & ongoing uncertainty. They r almost no further than Buffalo in this process. I still have no idea what my year will look like...

Knowing and understanding all this, as a BOE Member in Buffalo and most of all a parent of two BPS students, I find the boisterous attacks from a few and media scrutiny on just Buffalo, highly suspicious, dishonest, misguided, and biased...

IT WAS @Buffalo_Schools that had a strategically delayed start and phased-in approach in its plan, the only district I know to have included such in WNY...

This is not just me defending what I have the responsibility to represent. It is my truth. I know and respect that there are others who will disagree, but I just ask that you do so with respect for my informed truth...
