🐧 is here. Let's talk about these apps! Melon, Genie, Bugs are music applications among others (Naver Vibe, Flo, Soribada) in South Korea. Some music shows use data from these applications to calculate the Digital score (which contribute the highest % criteria for nomination) https://twitter.com/DAY6VSTeam/status/1292462291456163840
Where do we download these applications?

For Android, you can download the apk version.
For iOS, you have to change your region to South Korea before you can download the application.
How to stream on these music applications? (in general)

We have to have an account and a streaming pass, otherwise we could only play a 1:00 preview which doesn't count to the chart.
How to make an account?

International fans can make an account on Genie and Bugs.

Melon (Flo & Soribada) requires a korean phone number. You can, however, rent/buy an account through a seller.
How to buy the streaming pass?

Bugs; international fans can buy the pass directly through google play/ apple store.

Genie; iOS can buy directly if changed to Korean apple store.
Genie; Android users have to buy through 3rd party seller (we can get them as little as 2$ for limited streaming & 10.5$ for unlimited streaming)

you can browse the recommended sellers through this thread (some of them also sell/rent Melon account) https://twitter.com/DAY6GENIESINA/status/1293012770875613187
How does a stream count to a chart?

All music applications except Melon and Flo count the total listeners per hour to determine the hourly chart.

The more people who listen to the song per hour, the higher they will rank on the realtime chart.
Example;
there are 20k My Day listening to Zombie. That will land Zombie to top 10 realtime chart as there are active 20k listeners.

Some of 20k My Day might not be able to stream on the following hour, but because it charts high, it might attract the public to also stream-
-the song, hence the chart will stay/rise or even drop if more/less than 20k people listening to the song.

For Melon and Flo, it counts the total unique listeners in 24 hours. If there are 20k My Day who listen to the song, they will not enter the chart
For Melon, you have to have at least 80k total unique listeners to be able to enter the chart. So if there are 20k My Day who listen to Zombie, we will need another 60k public listener to enter the top 100 Melon chart. The chart refresh every 24 hours.
How many people stream and download the song will determine the Daily chart. The higher they rank and the longer they hold that rank, the more possible to have a higher Daily chart (Zombie's best realtime chart is #1 and best Daily chart is #5 on Genie)
So if you want to help DAY6 on the Korean music chart, please consider buying a streaming pass! If you don't have time to stream you can consider donating to;

they will buy the genie passes, so other My Days can stream!
If you are unable to buy a streaming pass, please make Genie accounts! There will be Fanbases and individual My Day who will share Genie links, so make sure to use them!
