Here is my response to this explanation that a man wrote about why it’s wrong to identify as a different race.

I specified that a man wrote it because a woman would not be capable of this level of cognitive dissonance.

Here it is:

“What about identifying as a woman?” https://twitter.com/CritFacts/status/1269772714761490432
In short, the reason is sexism and misogyny.

Gender is assigned to each sex. The female gender is a social-construct that is assigned to women as part of sex-based oppression. In order to overcome oppression and abuse from the patriarchy, women reject the construct of gender.
Your sex cannot be changed. Any parents can have a child of any sex. However, only the female sex can experience sex-based oppression and thus misogyny. And why it's uncouth to deliberately identify as a woman when you are a person of the male sex...is because of history.
Specifically, the history &current reality of how women (female sex) are treated differently (worse) than men.

Of how prescriptions of gender were & are forced onto the entire sex class of women, usually in a self-serving way for men who have had the upper hand the entire time.
It would be uncouth for a man to identify as a woman in the face of that oppression for much the same reasons as it would be uncouth to claim that your parents were Holocaust survivors if they weren't, or that they stormed the beaches of Normandy of they were actually German then
Moreover, to claim that you have a female gender identity means that you are intentionally identifying with a social construct that has been used to oppress women for all of time. It is offensive to try to embody the oppressive stereotype of a vulnerable class of people and—
also claim to experience female sex-based oppression when you are of the male sex.
Another thing to consider is that we put these boundaries in place in no small part as a moral concession. For the same reason that white people like myself are expected to lay down the N word, previously a weapon and tool for oppression now that we acknowledge it wrong to use.
So too, after eternally forcing women to abandon freedom/aspirations & to live with discrimination and oppressive rules such as patriarchal gender roles/lack of suffrage/etc, it's a sign of respect to let the women whose history and lives were constrained to set those boundaries.
People of the male sex, even those men who believe they were born in the wrong body, can't claim to be women bc women have experienced sex-based oppression by men, & therefore a man cannot claim to be a woman when he is of the sex class that has oppressed women for millenniums.
It's important to note that you need to listen to the voices of those most impacted in order to really understand this, especially and only women (people of the female sex).

Actually listen, and don’t threaten to rape us until our uteri bleed or tell us to drink bleach.
TL:DR; "transgender women" is identifying with the regressive, oppressive female gender construct and falsely claiming the history & experience of sex-based oppression.
And hot take:

Maybe if we hadn't had a global history of sexism and misogyny,

In some parallel universe where men had acted ethically towards women,

Then maybe, just maybe, putting on a dress and claiming you are a woman would be as inoffensive as dying your hair.
