I know Biden and Harris were not the first pick of many young people (myself included).

But here are the reasons why I personally am still voting.
1. We can’t wait 4 more years for a better candidate to do something about gun violence as 160,000 more people will die from guns if nothing is done by 2024.
2. If we loose any more seats in the SCOTUS our generation is really even more fucked for decades to come. No matter how left the country and president is in the future if we don’t have a SCOTUS that will support the movement it will be a major obstacle to real change.
3. We have a chance at all to push them from the left at least in comparison to Donald Trump and the GOP.
4. I will be voting for Congress people and Senators to hold them accountable and address their past with crimal justice and other issues which absolutely must be addressed and acted on with comprehensive criminal justice and policing reform at the minimum.
5. I’m not really sure if Donald Trump has another four years in office if we will still have a democracy at the end of it and that is absolutely not a risk I’m willing to take.
6. The NRA is terrified of both of them which is a plus in my book.
7. Donald Trump is a horrible president and human being that has an A rating from the NRA.
8. Granted I am more than willing to admit that I believe there are many places that young people need to push and create good trouble to make them better.

But in my opinion not voting will make them feel like they have less of an electoral responsibility to us.
9. There are also many many other races that affect you going on in 2020 that are on the ballot that are still extremely important for you to vote on.
This is probably going to be extremely controversial and you may completely disagree with me and I respect that this is just my own opinion.

*This is my own view not MFOL’s
There are many other reasons why I am voting not included in this thread but this is just a few.

There are also many things too not included that I personally Believe they need to acknowledge and address With comprehensive action if they are elected.
I know many young people are very disappointed that their candidate did not win the primary. I am too. but I also think it’s important to acknowledge the major impact that more progressive candidates have had on the establishment in just four years.
We may not have had our candidate win this time but I’m sure we will in the future this is a marathon not a sprint.

Sometimes we Lose but we carry on with the faith and commitment to making the Dem party the one we want to have in the future.
Though there have been many setbacks we’re off to a pretty damn good start and I look forward to the future.
Also I would always vote no matter what but I say still because there are sadly many young people that are losing hope for change.
