This is intolerable. Last night in Georgia, poll workers summoned a security guard to illegally eject election-integrity advocate George Balbona from the building, as he observed them closing down the polling place. Then FOUR police officers arrived... #gapol #transparency 1/
What is especially concerning is that Georgia police also evicted George and others ( @rad_atl & @MarilynRMarks1) from a polling place in 2017, even though they had correspondence from senior election officials confirming they had a right to be there! 2/
Last night, George was at the polling place to photograph precinct totals (poll tapes), which Georgia law requires poll workers to post outside polling places after the polls close. While he waited, George decided to observe the closing down process, as Georgia law allows. 3/
He explained to the poll workers that this is what he was doing, and they ejected him. He did eventually get his photo of the poll tape from this location. Two other locations he visited did not post their poll tapes, violating GA law. 4/
George recorded his encounter with the security guard and police officers here. Note that he only started filming when poll workers moved to illegally eject him from the building. 5/#action=share
Subsection (c) is the code section requiring that the public be allowed to observe poll workers shutting down the polling place after polls close. h/t George Balbona 6/
