IP gives opportunities for writers to take risks while having publisher support bc IP can be the publishers "baby" -- and a queer, asian IP book written by a queer asian author getting big marketing $$$ thrown behind it and hitting the list is. an incredible win. full stop.

a queer asian author writing ATLA canon that is as unapologetically queer & asian as the kyoshi books are is. a feat worth celebrating.

also a lot of books that you don't realize are IP are IP & some of those gave marginalized authors their first shot lol
