🗣🗣THIS IS A PUBLIC A LEVEL/BTEC ANNOUNCEMENT!🗣🗣

As I've worked in uni Admissions, I have a few CLEARING tips for y'all who are expecting your A Level/BTEC results today:

P.S: It's going to be just fine! #AlevelResults #alevels2020 #Clearing2020 #BTECResultsDay
1. RESEARCH & PREP! - List your (max) top 10 unis & the course(s) you want to do INCLUDING your Firm & Insurance Choices, to get some clarity on what you want to do. Preparation is key!
Complete interest forms where applicable.
2. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DEETS - Ensure you have the following in front of you:
- GCSEs (some unis ask)
- A Level/BTEC results
- UCAS/Clearing Number
3. GOT UCAS? - Sign into @ucas_online, check if you're in Clearing via UCAS Track (there will be a banner saying so when you've signed in), follow the guidance in regards to Clearing Plus; a new tool for 2020 that personally matches courses to your application, saving you time!
4. Don't have an UCAS app? Don't worry? You can still use @ucas_online Clearing search tool that has over 30,000 Clearing vacancies, which will also save you time too! Plus Admissions staff will set up an account for you. Efficient or what?
5. RING RING! DON'T PANIC! - Calling up instead? As stressful as the day can be for you, Admissions staff are on hand to help you every step of the way. Just to be sure to be CLEAR & CONCISE over the phone sharing as much info as you can when asked. It'll help in the long run.
5.1. Insider tip: As much as you'll be stressed out, it is best if you personally call the universities, instead of your parent/guardian. Why? We want to speak to you! It saves you/staff time, plus they don't bite! I promise! đŸ˜ŠđŸ‘đŸŸ
5.2 2nd Reason for the above tip? Because you just may be transferred to a tutor (if applicable) to discuss course details further. And who knows what you studied better than you do?
6. BE PATIENT - Easier said than done, I know. If you're calling up, there may be a wait. Admissions staff may be busy, but they will always be on hand to help out
7. EMAILS/TRACK - Check those for updates throughout the day as most will confirm via those channels.
8. ACCEPTING! - FYI, you don't actually need to accept the 1st offer you get, unless it's the uni you want to go to. Weigh up all the pros and cons of each place offered - pray, meditate, scream, WHATEVER - before accepting, but make sure it's done/accepted within due time.
9. RUNNING ON EMPTY - Places gone at a particular uni? Again, don't worry! Students change their mind & that place you wanted may just pop up again - but you gotta be on the ball. Let the unis know to contact you if that is the case, but don't wait too long for that one either.
10. IT'S NOT THE BE ALL, END ALL. I use this very example of a tweet in point 11. Remember. Stay calm and stress-free. You've really got this in the bag, plus you never know what blessing you could walk into! đŸ€—
