1 DM can change your life.

What about 2?!

Building off the momentum from my last call with @brandontoner, I reached out to the don of doing things: @craigburgess.

Truly an incredible opportunity to pick the brain of someone who is constantly taking action.

- My Takeaways -
1. To-Do List? No Thanks

You all know someone who is a meticulous planner.

They have checklists, excel sheets, google calendars - the whole shebang to getting shit done.

Recently, I've also been obsessed with building to-do lists or better known on money twitter as

Systems.
So I asked Craig, Lord of Productivity

"How do you get SO much shit done? Surely you have a system that encourages you to produce content?"

And as casual as a South Yorkshire lad could sound, he replied

"Yeah, I just do it."
I was floored 🤯

No system. No checklist. No BS calendar filled with meetings.

Just. Fucking. Doing it. (Nike should present their slogan like so)
Action.

The ultimate judge and what separates the men from the boys.

There are so many of you investing too much time PLANNING your next move instead of DOING your next move.

And when we look at results, I can guarantee you that the

DOERS are wayyy ahead of the PLANNERS.
Not all planned items get done.

You hate yourself as you stare at the list every day, week, month & realize you didn't finish it.

It makes you feel like a failure.

Like a loser.

Nobody wants to feel like a loser.
SO DON'T.

Don't allow yourself to feel those emotions.

Who created that list?

YOU.

Don't create some arbitrary checklist that dictates your self-belief.

Take all that energy you would've spent planning and shift it to doing.
I am in this process.

I'm shifting my focus towards doing > planning.

I have no idea what I'm going to do in the next hour.

But I do know this

"Every second I spend planning something is one less second I'm spending doing something" - @craigburgess

just do it, thx nike.
2. Same Boat, Different Wave

We are all living the same life, for the most part.

The problems we face and the solutions we present will look different from person to person.

Yet, we can understand the underlying struggles we face, even if they're a stranger.
We know what it feels like to

- Experience loss
- Be pushed against a wall
- Rise in victory
- Be terrible at something
- Be brilliant at something

This has allowed me to relate & click w/ two complete strangers from Canada and England after 'meeting' them on Twitter.
My Current Wave: w/ Twitter + Writing

- Make as many genuine connections with [anyone] (established or not) who is in a field I find engaging.

- Let my curiosity lead me to the people and communities I want to be a part of.

- Act on said curiosity.
In my previous life, I didn't have the time to explore my interests due to other commitments.

But that was then.

I now have all the time to explore.

The opportunity is there for the taking.

I feel like I'm in the middle of an abyss and all I need is to find the edge.
I told all this to Craig.

I said, "I just have no idea what I want to do right now, ya know?"

Again, casually, he replied

"Yeah man, I don't really know either"
This guy simultaneously runs 4 twitter accounts, his own agency and provides a lovely home for his feline friends, meow.

If he doesn't know, how the fuck would I know?

If he doesn't know, why should you feel like you have to know?

You don't.
Lesson:

- Have an unquenchable thirst for knoweldge.
- Be curious
- Take initiative
- Meet new people

I have no idea where this is going to take me.

But Craig's reassurance has allowed me to dive in.

No fear.

Full send.

That's how I choose to do life anyway.
