Good writing should be effortless to read. It is not effortless to write. It takes a crazy amount of work and is a lifelong process. I don't think I'll ever have it nailed down. Topic sentences is something I try really hard to do well (high MB), and I think it pays off.

Secretly hoping this tricks some internet trolls into reading my unpublished papers and unintentionally improving my papers, with gotcha examples where I'm not still not nailing this :-)
