THREAD: Genghis Khan did to central Asia what islamic invaders did to India, maybe worse. He single handedly killed 11% of world population at the time. Yet some want to glorify him as a hero conquerer. That's your personal choice but objectively, Genghis Khan was a barbarian.
In the Persian city of Merv, the "pearl of Asia", Genghis “ordered that, apart from 400 artisans, the whole population, including the women and children, should be killed, and no one be spared. To each Mongol soldier was allotted the execution of 300-400 Persians.
So many had been killed by nightfall that the mountains became hillocks, and the plain was soaked with the blood of the mighty." Sorry, no Hindu king, even the expansionist ones, ever engaged in this sort of brutality.
Historians today estimate that more than a million people were killed in less than a week. In one particularly brutal incident of GenghisKhan’s biography, he rounded up hundreds of Russian survivors, stacked them on top of one another and lowered a vast wooden gate onto them.
Then Genghis and the entire Mongol army had a huge banquet perched on top of the gate and as they ate and drank, Russians died beneath them from suffocation and pressure wounds.
He was quoted as having said "The greatest pleasure is to vanquish your enemies and chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth and see those dear to them bathed in tears, to ride their horses and clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters.”
Conquered women were raped, tortured, and murdered by his soldiers. But on fear of death the most “beautiful” women would be kept aside, untouched, to be presented to Khan in beauty pageants.

No, Hindu kings never did this, @reddy2002_varun
It's down right disgusting that you would compare the great intellectual, scholar and Vishnu bhakta Krishnadevaraya with a savage like Genghis Khan. Krishnadevaraya fighting battle of Raichur in his own country to recapture from Muslims isn't the same Gengis Khan @reddy2002_varun
Note, for everyone glorifying Genghis Khan as a "Chad" - puke.

"almost ending the desert cult" isn't a reason to heroize him https://twitter.com/eldia_01/status/1293806580601745409
I've only covered the disgusting side Genghis Khan because the "Genghis Khan Chad" gang refuses to acknowledge it. They think him an exemplary model of masculinity.
I don't glorify Alexander the great either. Just because the west heroizes Alexander doesn't mean all Asians need to do the same with Genghis khan as a counter. Have we no heroes of our own? None as barbaric, much to your chagrin. https://twitter.com/masterofsword_/status/1293801003079221248
Btw Babar and the Mughal Empire are direct descendants of Genghis Khan.

Babur was the eldest son of Umar Sheikh Mirza, ruler of the Fergana Valley, the son of Abū Saʿīd Mirza (and grandson of Miran Shah, who was himself son of Timur) and his wife Qutlugh Nigar Khanum,
daughter of Yunus Khan, the ruler of Moghulistan (and great-great grandson of Tughlugh Timur, the son of Esen Buqa I, who was the great-great-great grandson of Chaghatai Khan, the second-born son of Genghis Khan).
Who knew being against imperialism was such a hot take?
