New school guidance just released by @ISBEnews and @IDPH (thread):

-students w/confirmed or presumed COVID-19 case must isolate for 10 calendar days (? why changed from 14?)
-all siblings/members of household of any student sent home w/symptoms must also isolate for that period
-contact tracing will also mandate isolation for those who've had close contact (less than 6ft) w/confirmed cases for at least 15 mins/day cumulatively (includes classrooms & buses)

@gkschools Superintendent @GKCogsGM has already said social distancing won't be possible on buses
The IDPH/ISBE are classiyfing a school outbreak as "Two confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections occurring within 14 calendar days of each other in individuals in the same classroom"

https://www.isbe.net/Documents/IDPH-School-FAQs.pdf
-Music classes should be held outside as possible, or inside with windows open, no sharing of instruments
-it's up to schools to notify the rest of the team if athletes test positive
It's unclear in general in this document what level of public notification schools are required, other than a blurb reminding schools to be aware of HIPAA laws and not divulge too much information
This next part is worrisome IMHO:

"Schools should ask parents/guardians to notify the school asap w/any confirmed or
probable COVID-19 cases. It is important schools communicate this expectation to
parents/guardians early & often....
...(cont'd re: school COVID-19 notification processes being dependent on parents): "Local health dept will receive a report of confirmed or probable case from a lab or provider. However, the report doesn't necessarily
include school info (unless school was the test submitter)."
That means we're relying on parents to 1.) Be able to afford/find a way to test their child and 2). Be willing to share the findings with the school and 3). The school sharing that data with the rest of the community.
***And assuming they go to a free testing site, the quick turnaround of that test result (which, as we know, can be immediately or 1 million weeks later, right @KFJournalism?)
