How To Engage Like A Pro On Twitter

(A thread 🧵)

The Don’ts

Don’t be creepy or rude.
Don’t rephrase their words.
Don’t promote your products.
Don’t comment an emoji only.
Don’t go off point from the post.
Don’t leave one word comments.
Don’t ask their audience to follow you.
Hacks for improving your comments game 🤓

1. Use google:

- Understand the context of the tweet.
- Google the keywords.
- Restate what you’ve read in the comments. Learn as you engage.
2. Elaborate on the tweet

Instead of rephrasing what has already been said, aim to add more value to the readers.

Here’s how:
- Add more points to the list.
- Break down complex concepts.
- Give an opposing point of view.
- Share relevant stories/ quotes/ book recommendations.
3. Add humor

Humans generally respond well to jocularity. You can never go wrong with a joke, unless it’s offensive/sensitive.

Share a meme or gif to liven up the comments section, as thus:
4. Ask questions

This is an underrated hack to keep the engagement going.

If someone comments “nice” on your post, ask them what their favorite part was.

Also you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for explanations on things you don’t understand (not advisable with mega accounts).
Go an extra step when commenting:

“I agree” - Why do you agree? Share your personal experience

“Facts” - Link to your source?

“Thank you for this” - What did you learn?

“Great thread bro” - Yea highlight your favorite part.

🔥🔥” - Speak to us Fire Lord 😅
Put in some efforts when commenting.

People will judge your based on your comments. Your comments are written advertisements for your brand.
