I am a multishipper at heart but the fact that there are only 14 fics for a ship that has canonically so many interactions, is a tragedy,so I reread the Inarizaki match to show yall exactly why SunaTsukki is a great ship with great dynamic & why yall should pay it more attention.
Okay, first of all we know there is an ongoing rivalry between these two middle blockers. They have a very similar personality, being all snarky and salty and all that. Their relationship would be totally all about challenging each other and trying to one up each other
but with that also growing with each other bc they would rise to new heights by challenging each other all the time.

But let’s not focus on speculation, but their interactions that are canon for now.
Suna and Tsukki are very similar and their playstyle revolves around watching their opponents and breaking them down. We can see Suna here trying to wear down Tanaka, stuffing him, trying to break his spirit.
Suna is here, FORCING him to make mistakes and cornering him and pressuring him and guess who did exactly that in the Shiratorizawa match with Shirabu? Exactly, Tsukki.
However Tsukki isn’t the best blocker, which is why for Shirabu it took him a while longer, but that’s okay. Tsukki is playing the long game and we will see it in the Inarizaki match again, but let’s continue with their similarities for now.
Both of them are absolutely done with their resident team’s duo and they are absolutely not hesitating to call them out in their dumbassness and I’m living for that.
Right off the bat we can see that Suna has done his research on Tsukki, the fact that he compares his height to the Shiratorizawa game shows that. And I mean that’s obvious, bc Suna is a middle blocker who likes to manipulate other blockers. Of course he has to do some research.
And we see how these two clash against each other the whole game. Tsukki is trying so hard to figure out Suna’s playstyle and is pissed off about how his blocks don’t work bc he was sure that he closed off the path.
And Suna? Suna just is a little bitch, like so many MBs are and is calling him a good blocker and that he shouldn’t feel too bad. And look at that challenging teasing face he has and Tsukki’s reaction to it. The tension, the dynamic of them is off the charts, okay?
We see him thinking about it again, how he is a good blocker and that’s exactly what Suna needs and wants, bc the better the blocker, the better he can manipulate. He wants the opposite MB to be a good blocker bc that’s way more fun to stuff
And we can see him wanting to rile Tsukki up, wanting him to step up his freaking game, so he can get on his level. This is peak rivalry, okay?
We later see Kageyama blocking and Suna thinking a block that isn’t terrifiying isn’t a real block and Kageyama being way scarier than Tsukki with his block. We have a difference in their perspective on blocking right here and I love different POVs and takes on things clashing.
Suna feels like terrifying blocks, so Killblocks, are the only real blocks and then we have Tsukki. We know he isn’t aiming for these and he knows he isn’t as good as Suna and he won’t be able to just magically stuff him, but that’s okay.
It’s fine. Bc his take is completely different and the fact that he states the complete opposite of Suna, that thinking Killblocking is the only good blocking is outdated, just is a nice contrast, isn& #39;t it?
The fact that they are similar but also really different in their takes just makes their dynamic so good. Like just…imagine these two middle blockers off court, constantly arguing and challenging each other and their different takes.
They would probably get so heated in their arguments, but not really. Bc they aren’t people that would be shouting, but they would probably just rile each other up, viciously stating their points with a fake smile and that? That’s some tension I want to see.
Okay back to the game. I’ve already stated that Tsukki is playing the long game, he literally used two sets just so the defense could learn about Sunas cross shots. He’s working with the defense line, and when Suna’s realizing that, we get the iconic fake smile thanks yous
& their pissed off faces and I just love that okay? We always hear that Suna is the one manipulating blockers, but please acknowledge: Tsukki has done exactly the same to Suna. Manipulating him to constantly hit these cross shots and let him take a little bit of his own medicine
I think that’s one of the reasons why Suna is so pissed off. He is normally the one to manipulate and to get that back in his face? YES PLEASE.
And now we can see Tsukki again trusting his teammates to stuff Suna because he alone cant do it and what does Hinata think about that? That Tsukki is really good at blocking, just to pick up again on the whole Tsukki is a good blocker thing.
& directly after we can see that Suna is also working & perfectly in sync with Akagi like Daishou states here. It just shows the parallel of Tsukki and Suna and is just good writing to show that they are both really great blockers. Furudate is really great to show these parallels
So, in conclusion: We have two very similar competitive players, who love to challenge their opponents and to break them or piss them off, who take no bullshit and are not afraid to state that, but who also have some opposite views.
Their dynamic is off the charts, they would be so great together and I hope I could make you see that, too. This is just a little bit of my take which is half analyzing, half speculation, so if you disagree with some points or something let me know! I’d love to discuss that.
And if this still doesn’t make you see their great dynamic…just look at both of their disgusted faces to Hinata. We stan SunaTsukki being grossed out by their teammates lmao
Also yes, they are middle blockers, of course they are going to stand against each other in that match, but there are SO MANY PANELS WITH THEM OPPOSITE OF EACH OTHER IN THE SAME PANEL. Like they have so much canon content, you just have to open your eyes and you can see it
And okay, I’m reaching here, but LOOK AT THE VERY FIRST TIME WE SEE BOTH OF THEM in a panel, just having the same pose, looking at the same direction downwards. Uhm? Hello? Soulmates. Okay, that’s it. Stan SunaTsukki
