A year ago, I remember Panic responding to complaints about their announced lineup of games by almost entirely cis white dudes by saying “we’re working on it”.

I really really want to love the PlayDate. It clearly has had so much love and care put into it, and it exudes a sense of joy.
But, from the outside, it feels like Panic doesn’t care about fostering a diverse developer ecosystem with a variety of voices.

I feel bad tweeting about this. I don't want to spend my time criticizing indie co's building cool things.
But the PlayDate is EXACTLY something that I would LOVE to make weird experimental games for. It KILLS me that I have 0 interest in being part of their dev community.
