I'm back after a brief absence, and here's today's data. It's the second straight day of 100+ reported COVID-related deaths in Georgia. (This reflects when deaths are reported, not when they occur.) #gapol https://www.ledger-enquirer.com/news/coronavirus/article244909882.html
Cases are up a little. The difference between DPH's "Reported Today" figure (3,660) and the net increase (3,565) is about 100. Net increase is just simply taking today's total and subtracting it from yesterday's total.
DPH's Reported Today figure accounts for older duplicate cases that get removed or cases that get reclassified through DPH investigation before the day's new cases get added.
@sclaudwhitehead hit this point on a good thread yesterday regarding the state's clean up of death data.

I've reached out to DPH for a breakdown by month of when these deaths reported over the past two days actually occurred.
