Thread: Baseball Summer Camp Final Results

Going through final data from our 8 week summer camp programs. Although data is only a piece of the puzzle, it does provide good reflections and a key point in assessing if our programming helped player development. Summary: It worked!
Example 1: FB velocity as tracked using our @rapsodo unit through our Pitch Design Camp. 7/8 campers showed increase in velo. 5/7 with increases over 2 mph with top at 4.2 mph gained. Primarily result of mechanical changes reinforced through @LantzWheeler core velocity belt.
Example 2: Arm Farm Throwing Program Data
Of the campers who were present for pre and post testing 100% increased pull down velo with tops at 8 mph. 11/12 improved max distance throw distance, with all of those being 10& #39; or more. Top dude added 69& #39; and got past the 300& #39; mark
Recipe for success? Combine @jaegersports bands routine and @DrivelineBB plyo ball throwing, mix in extending out long toss for players (pushed to extend beyond "normal") heat it up with throwing competitions and we created gains.

Example 4: Hitting Bat Speed Data

Utilized @Blast_Bsbl for multiple metrics on how to help players, but, no matter your feelings on their metrics, bat speed is important. 14/17 guys saw at least some increase. 7 guys improved by over 3 mph.
Lots of different hitting activities tried. Lots of discussions with players about what they felt helped or didn& #39;t help/wasted time. Biggest takeaways: Not 1 answer for all + more time needed. Wish I could have spent more time with each guy, but didn& #39;t happen with group lessons
Overall thoughts: THIS WAS FUN. Long days at the field, but great relationships created and/or nourished.

Significant changes can happen in relatively short periods, if committed to it.

We made players better. The data proves the observations. #DataDrivenResultsOnABudget
