I’m shocked at the lack of curiosity by people who seem fairly intelligent who say that stock splits add no value. All the empirical research shows they add value. It makes sense from a management signaling and broader shareholder base standpoints. Still ye don’t believe. $tsla
But investors clearly value “guidance.” When a CEO or Board splits its stock, they signal to investors their stock is going higher. Mgmt either:
1/ Believes they will beat future expectations (e.g. $AAPL)
2/ Knows of some event that will push stock higher.

$TSLA could be both.
A stock split signals management’s optimism about its future relative to expectations. It’s no different than management offering positive guidance.
