I've got word that this is indeed a joke but this... this isn't a joke you make. anyways, in this thread we'll be talking about the culture in atla and why aang isn't white.

the air nomads are based off of tibetan monks and Buddhism. this is seen in the naming of the nomads, with names like gyatso and tenzin being REAL tibetan names.

although atla has some undeniable Western elements (seeing as it was created and written by white men) they studied Asian culture to base the world and its people off of.

whites have been in many films before and still to this day make up entire casts in films. poc characters have been stereotyped, killed, mocked or entirely excluded in and from films.
