/ [Short Thread]
In the coming weeks, as the #BidenHarris ticket heads towards probable victory, #IranLobby members are going to try to ingratiate themseles to Biden/Harris's advisors to get jobs & influence in the new administration. I hope those advisors won't be fooled.
/ When it has suited them, and when it has seemed like Biden might take a tough line on global dictatorships, these IRI apologists haven't hesitated to smear Biden or his team.
/ Taeb is an Iranian-American lawyer and a former @NIACouncil fellow who won NIAC's endorsement when she ran for Virginia State Senate. She is part and parcel of the IRI apologist crew in the US.
/ Aside: for those unfamiliar with this terrain, read this to learn what NIAC is about: https://twitter.com/kshahrooz/status/1127920516931772416
/ @tparsi, former head of NIAC and now involved with the Koch-funded Quincy Institute, has done much the same. Smearing Biden anytime it seemed like the candidate might take a tough line on Iran.
/ Here is one example. God forbid that Biden stand with @JackRosenNYC, the descendents of Holocaust victims, in taking a tough line on a Holocust-denying regime. Apparently, that's "neocon militarism".
/ Why do Parsi, NIAC and the rest of their group do this? Because they've failed to normalize the brutality of the Iranian and Syrian regimes (admittedly, that's a really tough job.) So instead they focus on smearing Tehran's critics. https://twitter.com/im_PULSE/status/1293246659841986561?s=20
/ I could give other examples, but the point is clear. Any harsh word about the IRI is used by these IRI apologists to attack Biden and his team. But they'll soon change their tune, ever-so-slightly, so that they can influence policy from the inside. Don't let them. /End
