..there comes a point when to improve the quality of a relationship, you must first alter the nature of the relationship.

Nigeria’s ease of doing business is about the power dynamics between operators & regulators, between those who make things & those who guard (guide) them..
For as long as the power to decide the ease with which we create resides unquestionably with those who run toll gates and road blocks, for as long as they have no skin in the game, experience zero direct consequences when businesses fail, there’s no sustainable path forward..
.. if we are truly committed to growing our economy, to creating jobs, to becoming a destination for capital, we must actively dis-incentivize tolls and road blocks.

We must weaken some of our regulators or align their incentives with the regulated, ensure skin in the game..
.. the nature of this relationship does not permit any real improvement in the quality of the relationship.

Either the government weaken their watch dogs because there’s almost nothing left to watch or the businesses find stenght in numbers.

The power skew is killing us..
