Kentucky is a "make it hard to vote red state," with a potential covid cruelty twist. See, for the primary they opened up absentee/vote by mail to all, no excuses.

Now, for reasons of ( #CoughCoughMitchIsScared) they MAY be going back to requiring an excuse for the general...

In fact, at the moment, you currently CAN’T even apply to vote absentee. (See screen shot).

That said, the Governor will announce the rules on 8/18 and requirements will be listed on https://GoVoteKY.com .

So, maybe… call the State Board of Elections here:

Deadline to register: 10/5 (one of the earliest)

Deadline to register absentee/vote by mail: 10/27

Once the rules for absentee/vote by mail are announced on 8/18, we’ll redo this thread with links and further instructions. but:

Absentee ballots must be returned by 11/2 at 4:00pm ET. RETURNED not postmarked and 4PM not when polls close.

And given delays in the mail...

...and the uncertainty of Covid, DO NOT WAIT.

And once we get to the middle of October, skip the mail and drop your ballot off with your local Clerk of Courts, which you can find here:

Now, since you’ve gone through all this trouble, you’d probably like to be able to TRACK your vote.

Well, you MAY be able to eventually track them, but, again, that functionality has been momentarily (permanently?) removed.
