[THREAD]
I've noted down what I've learned from my 1st #FPL season. This is inspired from various #FPL managers and content creators in the #FPLCommunity. It's a suggestion to myself to look back next season. This is my first writing so I request some criticism and feedback.
➡️ Strategy:
1⃣ This is the most basic and yet the most important thing. Don't have a hard and fast rule and strategy. Always be ready to adapt and do what works for you at that very moment. It’s such a dynamic game. What is gold today is garbage tomorrow.
2️⃣ Don't play too boring, safe and template. It may get you up to top 10k but never the top 100. But also don't be too aggressive for the sake of it. Have your shield picks and no more than 2 sword picks. Be the balance of Lateriser12/FPL Elite and Josh Bull.
➡️ Bench:
1️⃣ Spend minimum on your bench and set and forget the bench. Get 1 £4.5m defender or £5.0m attacker and just spend the minimum for the other 2 bench players. You'd rarely need 2nd bench player and will never need the 3rd one. Don't use your FT on bench players.
➡️ Differentials and OOP:
1️⃣ Find some differentials/OOP form the newly promoted teams early and at least keep them on your watchlist.

2️⃣ Don't own differentials just for the sake of it and don't captain a differential.

3⃣ Mid-priced attackers are often for your differentials.
➡️ Set and Forgets:
1⃣ Get a set and forget GK and most importantly get set and forget mid-priced assets like Ings, Jimenez, Martial, Defenders from defensively sound teams (CRY, BUR, LIV, LEI, WOL). They really help you to save your transfers and avoid hits.
➡️ Hits and Transfers:
1⃣ Avoid hits as much as you can, it rarely pays off. Start your season with at least one expensive defender, midfielder and forward. It will help you to navigate and avoid hits.
2️⃣ Don't use your FTs on GK and Bench players. Rarely use it on defenders. Use your FTs on higher impact moves like differential and/or premiums especially if you are captaining that premium.
3️⃣ Take hits if your starter is injured. Hits will pay off if it's involved in bringing in high impact premiums especially if you are captaining him.

4⃣ Don't waste your FTs unless you think the outgoing player(s) will outscore the incoming player(s) in at least 2-3GWs.
5⃣ Try to anticipate haul and bring that player 1 GW ahead of the anticipated GW.
➡️ Captaincy:
1️⃣ It is one of the most important aspects of the game. It is as important as your transfers. Take time and make a decision. Make your own decision, don't let Twitter affect it.

2️⃣ Don't captain a differential, there's a reason to pay more for the premiums.
3️⃣ Don't just choose your captain from the pool of players in your team. Consider every FPL assets for the captaincy and transfer in the best captain if that player will be good for at least 2-3 GWs. While doing this also keep the points potential of the outgoing player in mind.
4⃣ Consider set and forget captaincy for 4-5 GWs, if a team has 3 good fixtures in 4GWs and/or if a player is in a really good form.
➡️ Miscellaneous
1️⃣Don't bring attacking players from defensive teams like Ayew, Zaha, ASM. They may pass the eye test but the team won't score enough goals.

2️⃣Transfer in Jesus if/when Aguero is injured. A regularly starting ManCity no. 9 is just too good to ignore.
3️⃣Always pick your players after watching them and their team play. Also be sure to check the stats. Don't just bring that player because you like him or the Twitter/friend is doing so.
4️⃣If you mistakenly pick wrong player(s) don't knee-jerk him out especially if it involves a hit. If you have a bad asset in your team and can't wait to sell him, don't sell him unless you're absolutely sure that the incoming player is the best pick for at least 2-3 GWs....
...I got Vardy for WC team, after watching Leicester I couldn't wait to sell him. I had 2 ManU players and really want Martial but got Rashford not because I want him but because I want to sell Vardy. Later I missed Vardy's goals and took a hit to sell Rashford and get Martial.
5️⃣If a injury prone player is in form get him, as he'll remain differential because many people won't get him. You can always transfer him out if he gets injured. Use your FT here rather than on defenders.
6⃣ £5.0-£6.5m defenders are better than the similarly priced attackers. So play 4 at the back if you want to squeeze many big hitters.
7⃣ Don't have a rule on when to use your 1st WC. Take a look at your team and if there are enough players to transfer out to justify the WC, then use it. Don't count the no. of players you want rather count the no. of players you need to bin as you'll always want every good...
... players and you can't fit them all. You don't need to change everything on WC, don't fix what's not broken.
