Anybody who believes in BLM, Defund the Police, and Abolish Prisons has to take stock that this is beyond just street cops killing Black people. It is an entire system that subjugates people and destroys their lives.

It is disingenuous and dismissive to say someone isn’t a “cop” because they weren’t just a police officer. How did someone contribute to this system? What are they willing to do to reconcile w/ their actions and change it?

Language like cop, pig, ACAB, and fuck 12 is more than just petty name calling — it’s an indictment of someone’s choices. It’s a way of calling out an individual and the system. It’s letting them know we see you and we don’t trust you.

The entire point of a Presidential campaign is to win over the population enough to get them to vote for you. And even still when the choice is “obvious” (and clearly for a huge percentage of white people, it isn’t), how in the midst of a huge pushback against the carceral system

are we supposed to feel when our “obvious” choices are the representation of the very thing we went to dismantle? So don’t get it twisted. Kamala is a cop. Biden is a cop. Dems are cops. Don’t pretend they aren’t just because your mind is made up.
