I’m not arguing about the dem ticket on this app. Ain’t gon write about it. I’ll remain focused on the liberation of Black people. I’m not defending leftists ideologies against trolls/folks who don’t have capacity to hold multifaceted freedom strategy.

Y’all not gon exhaust me.
“If you don’t vote, you’re not involved.” is a flat and false reduction. Our civic engagement doesn’t begin or end at the ballot box.

Summa ya’ll refuse to talk about what you’re gonna do AFTER you cast your vote for a literal cop, so how invested in freedom are you really?
If you have no grasp of “both, and” strategy? I can’t talk to you re: this election.

If you don’t get why electing a cop during the largest fight for abolition since ~*literal slavery*~, feels insidious? We can’t talk.

If your focus is reform as the end goal, we ain’t talking.
And no, we can’t talk if you want me to indulge in identity politics as a means to invalidate the valid, documented critiques I/radicals have of the AKA, Howard grad, slayed with a silk press Black woman who has long been known (in her own words) as “America’s Top Cop”.

Nu uh.
I am not trying to keep you out the ballot booth. I understand voting as a political strategy. I’m not trying to change your mind.

I am trying to talk about liberation, + the road to get there. The singular act of voting is such a small, small pebble on that road, friends.
I/we have hopes to de-prioritize voting in the longer arc toward liberation. That would mean increasing grassroots “civic duty” locally and year round. That would mean you doing more than casting a ballot.

It is imperative. The “yes, and” here is so, so crucial, friends.
So no. Not finna chat about my disappointment + my dreams as we slug toward the November election. I think I’m good on that. You say let’s vote for the cop? Sure. Fine.

But as you thump the “never trump” bible in our mentions for the next few months... ask yourself, *then what?*
+ pls don’t think i don’t love (most of) y’all or value political dialogue in good faith surrounding the issues we need interrogate and struggle with together.

This is not a “fuck you” to folks who don’t agree with me.
But do try to understand that ppl are using a Black woman VP candidate as a trojan horse to troll, harass and berate radical/leftist folx into bad faith or strawman arguments on this app as we speak out against State/carceral terrorism.

It’s violent af and I’m too fucking tired.
