Thread from a Covid affected family . My grandfather expired after fighting for 2 weeks in the hospital, remaining 5 people are doing well now.
Sharing my experiences from last 25 days. This is not for sympathy or attention seeking, intention is to make atleast few ppl understand seriousness of the situation and take proper precautions. Don’t panic, but don’t underestimate any symptoms, seek immediate proper assistance
Admitted grandfather in a private hospital on 18th July . Private hospital decision was due to age factor and co-morbidities .
We were asked to get Remedesivir drug (Covifor) for better recovery. It is sold to people only with positive covid19 report , but it took 3-4 days to get positive report. In the black market the drug is being sold at a range of Rs.10-40k where in MRP is Rs.5400 .
Assume the situation after vaccine is developed, hope it’s not going to be rich man vaccine.
Financially we could manage ourselves but it is going to be very tough going fwd if govt is not keeping restriction on charges, per day min is 50-60k.
As the no. of cases are spiking sky high day by day everyone will not be able to get treated at govt. hospital and role of pvt hospitals is going to be crucial.
My father and his brothers treated in govt hospital, as it was in very initial stage and financials would have been very tough if they were joined in pvt hospital. Thanks to doctors and staff for providing good care and healthy awesome food in Suryapet govt hsptl @Suryapet_Dist
In-fact we recommended govt hospital to lot of people in initial stages of covid19. As the cases increasing exponentially in last 25 days, I am not sure how’s the situation there.
My grandfather expired on 30th and the news wasn’t shared with my father as he was in ICU. My mother, pinni and grand mother were in home alone and no one in the whole family was unable to go and console them as all our building is in isolation due to multiple cases.
Due to this we shared the news with them on 7th August. It was very tough as grandfather expired and everyone of us are at diff locations and various health situations and can’t even console each other.
Death is a pain and even more traumatic was none of the close family members didn’t get his last sight ( chivari choopu ) .
Once again I would like to mention its not for publicity, its only to make people understand how tough the situations are going to be as going forward. Still I see lot of people who are ignoring the seriousness of Covid and roaming without basic precautions.
I feel happy even if this thread makes one such person take proper precautions.
Few observations in last 4 weeks -
*Healthy food, exercise, consuming hot water and steaming helps you fight cover.
*Healthy food, exercise, consuming hot water and steaming helps you fight cover.
*One should stay strong if you test +ve. I observed 2 people with +ve report lost their lives with age around 35-40 who got panicked, tensed and didn’t take proper food
*When you are joining in a pvt hospital make sure they have ventilators and plasma therapy approved by govt. It will be difficult to transfer a patient in between the treatment when he is serious to other hospital and need ventilator, plasma therapy etc.
P.S : Please ignore my english and flow of the sentences as couldn't spend much time on them.
