#Psychosis #prevention research has been a part of mainstream psychiatry for at least 20 yrs, & individual risk calculators for at least 5.

With @NIMHgov/ @NIMHdirector making major, new investment in this work, what ideas in psychosis prevention are you excited about?

(1/3)
Personally, I’m excited about the Clinical Staging approach from the @orygen_aus folks. It maps on extremely well to my clinical experience. Also growth charts and clinical norms, by @monic_E_C(alkins) and friends. I’m looking forward to the @ENIGMAbrains CHR results ... (2/3)
... from @Mjalbrzikowski & @hernaus_tweets. Of course excited about the great work @DeidreAnglin, @Van_Els, & the SCOPE team are doing on social/structural determinants of psychosis risk. Always a fan of what @IanKelleherMD et al are doing on PE’s in the general population. 3/3
And and, would love to see a mixed methods study on the phenomenology of the CHR state in a racially, economically, geographically, culturally diverse sample. And maybe something asking service users believed to be at high risk what they would like out of healthcare. 4/3
... @DrJaiShah, @StephenWood8, @winkytheelf, @EllmanLauren, @alpowers7, @DrLeslieHorton, @MatthewRBroome, @viscidula, @Lucia_Valmaggia, what ideas in psychosis prediction / prevention do you find intriguing or exciting? (Feel free to name your own)
Everyone, what gives you hope about the future of psychosis prediction / prevention research?
Oops, I’m sorry, Els! I mean, @ven_els.
Arg! I’m going through all of my typos in this thread. I meant @monica_E_C. Sorry!
