I don’t like to talk about personal stuff much because I’m a private person and there are a million more important people and events to focus on, but it’s nice to know I’m not alone in battling with mental health issues (especially now.) Fighting my own brain daily really whomps.
I’m only able to speak from personal experience, but it’s been a slight relief to be diagnosed and treated. After hearing the sentiment for years, even I believed I was just unorganized, unfocused, unmotivated, and unintelligent. “Try harder” was my motto. Surprise: didn’t work.
Even with stigmas disappearing, it’s still a force of habit (and sadly easier) to just agree that you’re a fuck up or a space cadet than go into one’s mental health struggle, yeah? Anyways, here’s to progress and let’s get this thread full of resources - Thank you @ADHD_Alien !
