1) Queer Latinx folks invented the word "Latinx," not white people.

2) The majority's opinion isn't automatically RIGHT or JUST. 20 years ago, most Latinx folks opposed marriage equality for LGBTQ individuals & thought too many immigrants lived in the US. That's flipped now. https://twitter.com/germanrlopez/status/1293246049788846081
Perhaps "Latinx" won't survive the test of time. But some gender-neutral equivalent will most likely win out, as an increasing number of young Latinx people insist on using gender-neutral language in English & Spanish.

So reactionaries, rail away. You have no real argument.

I'm working on a semi-autobiographical story set in South Texas during the late 1980s, when being queer in our Mexican American communities was literally DANGEROUS.

THE VAST majority of people down here opposed LGBTQ identities & persecuted us.

THEY. WERE. NOT. RIGHT.

So you can miss me with your "pero la mayoría prefiere" pendejadas, raza.

If YOU don't want to use "Latinx," don't.

Quit harassing folks who do.

Quit pretending anyone is FORCING you to do a damn thing.

Your anti-LGBTQ bias is showing.
