Protip for getting rid of Google 1: on your Pixel phone, flash either GrapheneOS ( https://grapheneos.org  if you don't need GSF) or CalyxOS ( https://calyxos.org  if you need GSF provided by microG or if you have a Mi A2 instead), the websites have instructions for flashing

Protip for getting rid of Google 1.5: if neither of these AOSP-based OS are an option for you, choose LineageOS: https://lineageos.org  (or the microG fork at https://lineage.microg.org ) - make sure to use the official builds, as the unofficial ones might be out of date

Protip 2: use F-Droid ( https://f-droid.org ) to replace your proprietary apps with libre alternatives. If you need to download apps from Play Store, use Aurora Store for that (search for it on F-Droid)
