Reflecting tonight on how there was a group at our quiz night who were vocal supporters of another political party and just how their behaviour was so disappointing.

Racist comments towards @rimubhooi, rude comments to me, deliberately ruining merch we'd brought...
Throughout the whole night, their team were doing pretty terribly (and they knew it). We were nothing but encouraging and supportive - earnestly telling them congrats when they scored well on one round, and not to worry about it when they got obscure questions wrong.
It got to the point though, where I was on the verge of asking them to leave because their comments were so incessantly disrespectful despite our sincere hospitality.

And it just, makes me feel so sad for them. Imagine having no better way to contribute to society.
I'm so tired of grown men and the way they think it's acceptable to treat young women, and in @rimubhooi's case, young women of colour. I'm sick of being stood over, and talked over, and being made to be uncomfortable and fear for my safety. It's fucking bullshit.
If that's the only way to feel in control of your life - to turn up to a fundraiser for a group you don't support and harass them, and in particular, the two young women organising and hosting it, for two hours - when that group doesn't pose any threat to you.

Fuck that's sad.
