How the LIVES of Medical Staff is a 'JOKE' to the Goa Government.

Alot of praising happened initially, Flower Petals, our CM @DrPramodPSawant visiting a hospital and attending patients to ease the load, when there were hardly 2 covid19+ patients in Goa.
°2/
But what now? We have so many Medical Staff and their Family Members testing positive. Especially GMC, it has turned into a Hot Zone.

Why and How?
👇 Kindly read till the end.
°3/
New Covid Wards have been set up at GMC. New wards automatically demand for more staff, especially Nurses. However, no new staffers were appointed, until few weeks back, 30 new staff nurses were called in.
Note: this number is insignificant compared to the increased work load
°4/
Initially the rule was, once a batch has been posted there (Doctors/Intern/Nurses/Ward Attendants) they would work there for a continuous period of 15-25 days, and then a 15 days home quarantine, if he/she has been tested negative.
A Second Batch would take over then.
°5/
But this procedure is LONG FORGOTTEN.
The Government,HODs, Matrons,Ward Sisters and the Night Supervisors are treating the lives of the Interns,Nurses,Ward Attendants as a mere Joke.
There is no batch wise posting in the Covid Wards and an over all severe shortage of Staffs
°6/
Everyday, a random Staff (Nurses and Ward Attendants) is picked from any of the other dpts.(E.g. ENT, Surgery, etc) and are posted in the Covid Wards.
After an one day shift in the Covid Ward, they are then sent back to their previous ward.
Next day then some other
°7/
staff is randomly picked.

By now we all know how deadly the virus is and one doesn't need a continuous exposure to it to get infected. One time exposure, even the slightest can get you infected.

When these staffs are sent back to their original ward the next day, many a
°8/
times they are not even tested. Which places them under higher chances of infecting their other colleagues, if they were infected by the virus while they were on their one day shift in the Covid19 ward.

Why are the Heads of the concerned dpts. being so Irresponsible?
°9/
Recently,A ward attendant was tested Positive. After a 10 days shift in the Covid19 ward he was directed a Home Quarantine.(His test results were not yet out) On the 4th day of his Home Quarantine, he was called back to join back in the General ward by the Ward Sister. Inspite
°10/
of his repeated requests to give him another 2 days of sick leave as he was feeling unwell he was still called as there is a severe shortage of staffers. On the 6th day when the test results arrived, he was tested positive and was then sent to ESI.
Whom shall we held
°11/
responsible here?
He was called to back work even before getting the results and even before completing his home quarantine period. His results arrived, while he was attending other patients in the General ward.

This is like deliberately subjecting the lives of his family
°12/
members, Colleagues and other patients at risk.
In the past 4 days, 1 Nurse, Intern and a Patient has been tested positive from the same ward.

When a staff is found Positive in any other Workplace, the entire place is sealed and sanitised.
But this isn't possible in a
°13/
Hospital. Hence, atleast have proper management tactics and atleast for ONCE sanitize the place.
Nearly 5 months and not even once the hospital has been entirely sanitised.
°14/
● Thousands of results are pending.
Hundreds of patients visit GMC everyday.
Only those having an emergency operation get their results within 1-2 Hours.
While those admitted for other treatment get their results after 7-10 days. Until then, the staff handle them
°15/
(Medicines, Dressing, Bed Making)even without a proper kit.

When the staff from the regular ward request for a supply of PPE kit to them as well, they are told to do a continuous 12 Hrs.shift wearing the PPE kit if not then the regular 6 hrs shift without the PPE kit
°16/ @DrPramodPSawant @visrane How do you think it's possible or even healthy for those above 40-45yrs having several other illnesses, to wear a kit continuously for 12hrs and all this only because you want to save up money????
°17/
● When the grievances of the staff nurses are taken to the Ward sister/Matron/ Night Supervisors (Senior Staff -Ward Incharges) that its getting impossible to manage the Ward with such less number of staff their usual reply is
°18/
'How do u think v managed the wards during our time? It's just that youll have got lazy and don't want to work a little extra'.

NO respect at all for the nurses who work out there, when they themselves just sit in their office. On top of this they are so heartless that they
°19/
compare the present Pandemic Situation to their Junior days (15-20years ago) when there used to be just 10-20 patients in a ward managed by 4-5 nurses (currently 20-30 patients in a ward managed by 1-2 nurses)
°20/
To sum up the entire thread in one image, then 👇
Such a small state and we are FAILING SO MISERABLY.
@DrPramodPSawant @visrane requesting you to kindly take this seriously at atleast now. High time you appoint a good management team.
Because the current team is ridiculous.
