A S GILL an Indian Navy Sailor who stole an Indian Navy Sea Hawk to satisfy his urge of flying after he failed to join Indian Air Force

Ajit Singh gill ( an ordinary ordnance mechanic ) had a long urge to fly a plane but he cannot achieve it since IN only allows officers to fly aircraft.

Despite of being a mechanic he do possess a Private pilot license (PPL)

After making 2 failed attempt to join IAF. Gill ji on 12 aug 1964 stole a sea hawk ( no. IN163 ) and took off.

This unregistered flight triggered the alarms of INS Vikrant. 😆😆
After the take-off he soon realise that he couldn't land the aircraft
(As he lacked knowledge)

So he Insisted land the aircraft on water hence becomes THE 1st & ONLY INDIAN who land a hawk on water
