Staff across @TEAL_Trust worked with extraordinary skill and professionalism to produce thousands of centre-assessed grades at incredibly short notice. These grades were based on a very wide evidence base and knowledge of the students

They were then moderated by 2 subject specialists. Following this, senior leaders scrutinised the grades and where they felt they may be overly generous they were sent back for re-consideration and where required they were moderated down.

Following this, the Head scrutised the grades to ensure that overall they accurately reflected the trajectory of the school and the cohort. Finally, the CEO double-checked the grades to ensure there was no over-inflation.

I am absolutely confident that the process of producing Centre Assessed Grades in our trust was fair & robust and we had already done Ofqual’s job for it by ensuring there was no inaccurate over-inflation.

It is utterly baffling and indefensible that an 11th hour change now puts some vague notion of “mocks” above a professionally produced set of Centre Assessed grades.

We will do everything we can to ensure our students get the grades they deserve and grades that accurately reflect their true performance.
