I'm worried about people who want climate action, but then claim that reducing emissions to zero is easy, if only all kinds of existing energy companies would get out of the way, and a totally new industry would flood the world with their favorite solution.
We need to get to (net) zero emissions globally by 2050, and having worked on many aspects of this for quite some time, I can assure you: It's possible, but it's definitely not going to be easy.
Brushing aside whole categories of solutions, like biomass or CCS or hydrogen is dangerous. And so is discarding a role for major energy companies that want to be part of the change. We can't afford to do without their wealth of know-how, expertise, and financing.
Think about breaking the industry down, and rebuilding it from scratch? Forget about getting to zero emissions in 30 years.
So when you an energy company announce big plans contributing to emission reduction, don't start yelling 'greenwashing, too little too late'.
Instead critically look at their plans (some may well need to be sharpened), follow their execution, help them where you can. Which doesn't mean you can't criticize their remaining emission-heavy activities.
