I have thought about this and I'm convinced that the biggest problem that businesses have in Nigeria is that most of their staff aren't competent at basic mathematics

Every country has its fair share of dishonest citizens

But it seems the problem with the dishonesty in Nigeria

Is that it is accompanied by a poor sense of mathematical analysis

An average Indian thief is probably more successful than an average Nigerian thief because he can calculate the margins of his employer, & steal only what will not be noticed, & hence ensure the business survives

A Nigerian thief on the other hand cannot calculate what the actual margins of the business are before stealing more than what the business can cope with.

A successful parasite survives on a host by ensuring the host stays alive to be able to continue feeding it indefinitely

I want to test this theory among Nigerian employers

When hiring, ensure your potential staff have a higher than average aptitude for mathematical calculations

Especially mental calculation

A thief who knows what his employer makes will try to steal only what won't be noticed
