The nephew of Karnataka MLA, put out an objectionable post on facebook against Prophet Mohammed. As the post started circulating on facebook and reached people, groups of angry people reached his house. They attacked his house as well as the D J Halli Police Station

The mob armed with sticks, iron rods etc. barged into the MLA's house. They started pelting stones and began to torch vehicles, ATMs, shops near the locality while protesting against the alleged derogatory post made by one of the relatives of MLA . two cars have been burned down

and the mobs have forced the shopkeepers to keep the shutters closed. When the police noticed the uproaring of the riot, they had to start fire which led to the death of 2 people.

Since the riots began 110 people along with the nephew of MLA who posted on fb has been arrested. 50 police personnel, including senior officers at the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) level, were also injured in the incident.

After the incident, Section 144 has been imposed in the entire city of Bengaluru. Along with this, curfew has been imposed in two police station areas DJ Halli Police Station effective in violence. The Home Minister of Karnataka has issued an alert across the state and

Chief Minister himself is keeping an eye on the case.
