When I lost my mom in 2008, I was terrified and confused. She was a great woman and literally everyone who knew her had something good to say about her.

One day, the elders in my church came to visit and one of them said, "Never in your closet ask God Why" and that threw me off
Cause I was barely a teenager then and I had questions. "Why did God take my mommy away from me?" "Wasn't she a good person?" "Was it her time?" I mean, She was barely 50 🤷‍♀️

But because of what that man said, I assumed that asking God questions is basically disrespecting God.
*Insert the Bible passage that talks about how the Pot cannot question its maker*

So, I learned to take it like that. We don't question God because He made us and who do we think we are to ask our Creator what He chooses to do with his creation?
A couple of days ago, I lost someone and this time, the pain was deep. Perhaps, it's because I'd begun to understand pain being grown up and all, but I had questions this time. Questions I couldn't push back down.

But I remembered what that Elder said to us in 2008 and
I tried to keep it all in. One day, while praying, The Holy Spirit ministered to my heart and said, "Don't be afraid to ask your questions."

You see, we've been sold the idea that God doesn't want to answer our questions so we shouldn't disturb Him. When the truth really is...
... He doesn't HAVE to answer them, but He WANTS to. He wants to provide clarity. He didn't create us to be Zombies. He gave us brains to think and process. We are Human after all and we will have questions at different times in life because tbh, this life get as e be.
The relationship we have with Him isn't just Creator-Creation.
He's our Father, Friend, Lover.

The same way you're not afraid to ask your Father questions when you don't understand is the same way you should approach God.
Ask those questions. He WANTS to answer you.

Selah.
