The farright have used Balbriggan, again, as an opportunity to spread false information. The cause of fire was electrical. This is a family terrified now because of what far-right have said about them. Young people were not involved in fire. TDs must not repeat far-right lies.

Local residents in Balbriggan have been working all summer to address very serious racial profiling by Gardai in the area, finding solicitors, counsellors for trauma, support for families. If we don't address this, all efforts to counter new fears will fail.

Right now, there are a lot of illegally confiscated phones not returned to local kids by Balbriggan Gardai. There are kids signing docs without advice in Garda Station & families traumatised by house searches. This is the reality of racial profiling in Balbriggan. Address this.

The far-right are using online influence to push the conversation in a particular direction - anti-immigration, punitive, carceral, reducing rights in practice for minorities.
