Vanitas (from Latin, “vanity”), in art, a genre of still-life painting flourished in Netherlands in early 17th century. Symbolic of inevitability of death and transience and vanity of earthly achievements and pleasures; it exhorts viewer to consider mortality and to repent.

Reflecting on the plot of +U, it is mainly revolving on what's wrong, realization, repenting, death and resurrection. In revamping friendship, in life and even in sum religion (thise who believes in eternal life or reincarnation) we all undergo the same process.
