— a thread ranking the horniest nct ships on ao3

— there is no consistent way of tagging smut on ao3. authors have full discretion on their fic rating, warnings and tags: there are smut fics that are rated M, some that do not list archive warnings, and plenty of fics that do not have the "Explicit Sexual Content" or "Smut" tags

— the rankings in this thread are based on the percentage of E fics a pairing has when filtered for otp:true. this is done to remove any side-ship tagging
— while there are fics marked Explicit for non-sexual reasons, this rating is most frequently used to tag fics with smut

— in addition to filtering for otp:true, I have excluded fics that are marked "Not Rated" when doing the calculations for the percentage. I do not believe including these fics would provide an accurate representation of how much smut is in a pairing's tag

— example calculation: the lucas/renjun tag has 361 works

♡ 155 fics are otp:true
♡ 139 fics are rated
♡ of the 139 fics, 11 fics are marked Explicit
= 7.91% of luren-centric fics are Explicit

and since i read all of them: Yes They Are All Smut

— because this fandom has so many pairings, it's impossible for me to go through every. single. pairing. and do these calculations. also important: very rare ships (such as renjun/johnny) have a disproportionately large number of E fics because they are not written frequently

— that all said, I looked at 20 different ships and calculated their percentages based on the above criteria. below are the top five horniest ships!

#5: taeyong / ten (taeten), 25.81%

#4: jaehyun / taeyong (jaeyong), 26.88%

#3: lucas / mark (lumark), 26.93%

#2: johnny / jaehyun (johnjae), 31.47%

#1: johnny / taeyong (johnyong), 39.54%

— remember: these percentages are proportionate to the number of otp:true fics the ship has. it does NOT represent the total number of Explicit fics that ship is tagged in, nor is it a 100% accurate measure of how much smut is written for that ship

— if anyone is curious about the remaining 15 pairings i calculated, qrt with a ship and i'll see if it's on my spreadsheet ^^
