What is the more ethical thing to do here?

So say you have property at a friend's place. This friend recently got a divorce. The ex gets a court order to take things from the property. They take the stuff they were legally able to take, but also take your things. You know
Where your property is. The ex and the owner of the place where the ex put it both acknowledge and recognize the property is yours. But the person who has them is demanding a storage and care fee to return them to you. Ex says you have you pay it. There's a court date
Set for the issue, but that's really more between the 2 that were in the relationship, and you can't get a guarantee from the court you'll get to speak. There have already been 2 court dates come and go and no progress was made in your favor. You know exactly where your
Property is. You don't have to break into a house or anything to get to it. How unethical would it be to just go get it yourself?
