Let& #39;s talk about Nicole in this scene. She completely froze when chewbacca Nedley wanted to get into the homestead. The blank face reads a mental breakdown. Spacing out. This happened at Shortys too, after talking to the new Sheriff. For a sec, it looked like she had "given" up.

What I mean by that is that she temporarily "gave up" being strong, gave up fighting and surviving in that short few seconds... because she is jaded, she& #39;s tired, she& #39;s hurting.

She didn& #39;t have her family with her for a year and a half: no Wynonna, Waverly, Doc, Jeremy, Nedley. She lost her title as Sheriff. She lost... herself. Her purpose.

But you know who she had? This girl. Rachel Valdez. A quippy teen who knows and understands what Nicole is going through. The loss, the grief, fear and pain. They got stuck together because they only had each other.

While Nicole lost everything in her life that she worked hard for... it makes me think that her reason for living and for not giving up was Rachel. Nicole survived to take care of Rachel. In this moment, we see her motherly side that we& #39;ve never seen before...

She was worried about losing the only person she had left, the only person who was there who she clung to for emotional and mental support. I love the relationship between Rachel and Nicole, and I hope we get to see more of this duo this season.
