So, paano nga ba nagki-claim ng reimbursement from PHIC even before COVID? This is done thru CF4. From what I know SPMC kasi created a core group that specifically adressed that completion of CF4, requiring its resident physicians and staff to do the paperworks.

So even before COVID, the system has been in place and SPMC enjoyed the PHIC reimbursement because of it. In fact, hospital administrators from Manila actually came to the hospital to learn about its best practices.

Kasi nga, there was a time nung nag sshift ang PHIC to all-digital na from physical na paper for its claims, sobrang weak ang system ng PHIC na lahat ng hospital even private nalulugi.

Here comes nag COVID, the already stressed hospitals mas lalong nagka problema. Pero well, f*ck talaga ng mga officials na involved sa alleged corruption sa agency. There's a special place in hell for people like you!

By the way, SPMC does not operate under the city government. In fact, walang city hospital ang Davao, which is actually both an advantage and disadvantage. Advantage siya kasi its funding actually goes to patients directly in terms of financial aid, meds, etc.

Kaya nabibigay ang needs ng patients kasi nakaka lapit sila sa city government for aid. Disadvantage siya kasi almost patients come to SPMC for their medical concerns, regardless of creed and social status (kasi nga halos libre lahat), which bombards the hospital and its manpower

So yang claims na yan, wag na natin pag usapan sino ang hospital na pagod, mas malaki, or whatever metrics you want, kasi wala tayong patutunguhan diyan. The better question is, aling hospital ba ang may mas efficient na system to address its PHIC claims? Ganun!

And lastly, compared with other government hospitals in Manila, SPMC is still catering nonCOVID patients until now. So the reimbursement might not actually come from COVID cases only. Pero well, I don't even know if yung data na pinresent is latest. Baka last year pa nga yan e.
