Untold story of Rani Karnavati of Garhwal who chopped the nose of so called great Mughal Warriors.

Karnavati was wife of Garhwal King Mahipati shah. King was known for his fierce bravery and firm opposition for invaders.
He got invitation for Shah Jahan's accession to the throne. But he insulted the messanger and didn't pay visit to that ceremony.

This incident increased the threat of invasion for kingdom of Garhwal.
After some time, King Mahipati Shah suffered fatal injuries during the battle and lost his life.

Now kingdom was managed by his 7 year old young prince and Queen Karnavati ( her trusted army generals).
When Shah Jahan came to know about Mahipati Shah's demise, he ordered to attack.
Queen allowed them to enter the kingdom but held them at today's Lakshman Jhoola. The men could neither move forward nor retreat.
Then they sent a peace message which was rejected by Queen.
Rani Karnavati told she will release them after cutting their noses.

This is how she sent her strong message - She was not afraid of anyone and if required she can chop off heads too.

This is how she earned the nick name Nak Kati Rani.
Monuments erected by her still exist in Dehradun district at Nawada.

This is really sad that our history books only teach us about so called great Mughal Emperor.
And people raise fingers about women empowerment in India.

Such stories clearly shows the real women empowerment.
