I started HRT when I was 23. In other words, I was going through puberty in the wrong direction for like a DECADE. And that& #39;s on the young side for trans women of my age. https://twitter.com/literallysofie/status/1292994731027226624">https://twitter.com/literally...
Either it& #39;s puberty blockers for everyone until they& #39;re "old enough to decide" or every child should be presented their options at the age of 12 or so and allowed to choose the puberty of their choice. Anything else is bullshit.
Teach all children, starting from the time they& #39;re old enough to understand that gender exists at all (3 or 4), that they have the right to choose what gender they& #39;ll be and what kind of body they want as an adult.
All parents/teachers/adult authority figures have a moral obligation to do this, and to support the choices those children make, including the choice to experiment one way and then the other.
This is only tangentially related to the main point of this thread, but I want to be clear - there& #39;s no such thing as "too late" to start HRT. Sure, the best time was when we were teenagers before going through the wrong puberty at all, but the second best time is now.
