Anyone know the ins and outs of Twitch payouts to streamers? Trying to figure out how it's fair for Australians, because it doesn't sound fair to me. Going through my analytics, I am getting roughly $2.40 USD per tier 1 sub. Which is $3.40 AUD currently. Now this would be fair
if twitch subscription prices were still $5 USD. However, Australians are now forced to pay $9 AUD for a Tier 1 subscription and yet the streamers are still only getting paid $2.40 USD ($3.40 AUD) instead of getting roughly 50% of the sub amount which sound be around $4-$4.50 AUD
The price of Australians subs went up to a set rate of $9 AUD when the USD was way stronger. But now that the USD has weakened they still haven't lowered this price to line up. So Twitch are now making extra money per sub from Australians. Something needs to change here!
Calculated my latest Twitch payment and I received $2.377 USD ($3.39 AUD at the time) per Tier 1 subscription. Assuming the majority of those were Australians paying $8.99 AUD. That equated to 38% of the sub. Not 50% like the affiliate agreements states. The USD is also getting
weaker. Today the $2.377 would be $3.34 AUD. That's 37%. If the USD continues to weaken or AUD strengthen then that percentage will keep dropping until Twitch changes the pricing.
